Today is Veteran’s Day in the USA. Please take a moment to reflect on all those who have worn the uniform of this great country: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and National Guard. Whether active duty, reservists or retired, these men and women have all made sacrifices so that we can enjoy the freedoms that we sometimes take for granted.
In the 50+ market that we focus on, our veterans have served honorably in the Gulf, in Vietnam, Korea, the Asian and European theaters in WWII – there’s even a single surviving veteran of WWI. Our 50+ veterans have also served in other areas across the globe, including peacetime and humanitarian endeavors. How can you not feel pride in their courage, their honor, their sense of patriotism and their selfless devotion to duty and country?
Let’s not forget their service. Instead, let us honor and celebrate it. The next time you see someone in uniform, stop and say “thank you” and offer a prayer for their ultimate safe return to family and friends. And in a special way, please remember the soldiers, sailors, Marines and those in the Air Force who stood the post during WWII. We are losing them at a rate of more than 1,000 per day.
Remember, all gave some … some gave all.
